Pirelli 2008 Calendar
The 2008 Pirelli Calendar was launched in Shanghai on Thursday November 29th. The 35th edition of "The Cal" features was shot entirely in Shanghai and features two of Australia's best-known models, Gemma Ward and Catherine McNeil.
Naomi Watts is the only other Australian to have appeared in the iconic Pirelli calendar, in 2006. The 2008 calendar was shot by renowned French fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier, who also shot the 2005 calendar in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
First produced in 1964, the Pirelli calendar has become famous for its artistic portraits of female models and celebrities. The calendar is not for sale to the public and a limited print run ensures the calendar retains its exclusivity.
