As the company itself turns 60 this year, Franchisee Alan Edridge is celebrating his first year at the helm of the JAXQuickfit Tyres Browns Plains store. And to commemorate that important business milestone, the Browns Plains store is having a sale.

Store owner Alan heads a seven strong team of highly-experienced tyre industry professionals at Browns Plains, offering the full range of tyres, wheels & accessories, plus an extensive mechanical service.

"My ambition when taking on the Browns Plains business was to use JAXQuickfit Tyres' 60 years of knowledge and develop that experience to suit the needs of the customers in our area," Alan explains.

"For example, we've added run-flat accreditation to suit the latest generation of vehicles, plus tubes and tyres to suit Quad Bikes, ATVs and mowers, because there's also a need for those.

"We are already servicing many fleet cars and industry businesses, such as smash repairers, car dealers and the like, and it's an area of opportunity, so we have equipped ourselves to better service those needs.

"There's also a need to service larger vehicles, so we upgraded our fitment and alignment machinery to allow us to handle tyres for larger four-wheel-drives, up to 4.5 tonne trucks, up to 26in passenger car tyres, and even wheel alignments for the big F Trucks and American imports with dual wheels."

Alan also explained that he wanted to expand the services that the store offered.

Alan and his team has also masterminded a shift toward better servicing female customers, with more emphasis on customer information and general automotive advice. 

In his mid-40s, married, with teenage children, Alan says his first 12 months at the JAXQuickfit Tyres Browns Plains store has been both exciting and challenging.

"It's a high competitive environment and we have to be very sharp with our pricing and with the speed and efficiency of our service.

"We pride ourselves on listening to the needs and wants of our customers and have grown the business by strong service and knowledge, not high-pressure sales.

"I am delighted that as a business we have gone from strength to strength during this past 12 months, and that I've been able to add something to the already strong customer-focused culture here.

"I'd also like to think I've injected extra enthusiasm into the business at every level."

Alan says he has worked hard to gather a team of highly experienced staff in all facets of the tyre and mechanical industry.

"Darren Vessey, the assistant manager, has 16 years' experience in tyres, wheel alignments and suspension … his enthusiasm for motor vehicles and safety is apparent to anyone who meets him, especially our customers.

"As a business because there's such diversity among the vehicles in the area … that's why we've invested so heavily in the very latest equipment, so that we have the capability to service everyone's needs."
