Almost 20 years in the tyre
industry, the last seven at the helm of JAXQuickfit Tyres
Liverpool, has not blunted Glenn Shedden's enthusiasm for all
things automotive.
But it is tyres that are
the centre-point of Glenn's working life and as the franchisee
for JAXQuickfit's Liverpool store, he is passionate and
committed to his customers and his business.
"Typically, we have a
lot of passenger car and suburban four-wheel-drive customers,
plus a bit of local light delivery and fleet stuff, enough of a
mix to make it interesting," Glenn says.
"Our aim is to offer
customers a genuine choice and, if they are not sure, the right
sort of advice, at the right price of course. I want to see my
customers safe and happy, and over the years that approach has
won us many friends."
On offer at the Liverpool
store is the JAXQuickfit's national range of tyres, wheels and
associated services, together with steering, brake and
suspension servicing.
In the workshop there's a
large investment in the latest high-tech tyre fitment and
servicing equipment, backed up by a staff of seven.
A house speciality is
motorsport work, with many customers bringing their cars in for
performance wheel alignments or high performance tyres, ahead of
track days and club events.
It's an area of passion for
Glenn, and expertise for his business.
"We have a high level of
ability to undertake this sort of specialized motorsport work,
and have many, many customers who travel some distance to get
our help with this," Glenn says.
A long personal history in
the tyre industry means that Glenn has witnessed many changes to
the business in two decades.

"Even
as recently as the past five years, the number of female
customers has increased significantly as more and more females
are comfortable doing their own shopping for tyres," Glenn
says.
"We've recognised that
by making our waiting area as comfortable and convenient as
possible."
When he gets away from the
business, Glenn enjoys spending time with his wife and three
children, and his interests in motorsport and collectable cars.
