Tuggeranong may be known to Canberra locals
as “nappy valley” but if there are plenty of babies in
the suburb there are also plenty of tyre-savvy parents driving
them around and about with tyres fitted at JAXQuickfit Tyres
Tuggeranong by industry veteran Adrian Heffernan and team.
For a bloke who started selling tyres more
than 36 years ago, Mr Heffernan still allows his JAXQuickfit
Tyres business to be driven by the Tuggeranong locals who keep
loyally coming back to buy their tyres, have them fitted by
specialists and ensure the mechanical work on their cars is done
to A1 standards.
“I started out in tyres in Sydney and
when I first came to Canberra I was working in a tyre re-tred
factory with a mate of mine,’’ Mr Heffernan said.
“I loved working with tyres so much that
I used to make wide wheels to go with tyres at home at night in
my backyard shed.”
“I worked so hard for this mate of mine
that I eventually inherited half the re-tred facility – it was
then that I knew that my future was in selling and fitting tyres
for people – and I have been going at it ever since.”
JAXQuickfit Tyres Tuggeranong is not Mr
Heffernan’s only JAXQuickfit Tyres store.
Pop into JAXQuickfit Tyres Belconnen or
JAXQuickfit Tyres Queanbeyan on any given day, and all staff
will also know Mr Heffernan as “boss”.
“I started up with JAX about 12 years
ago because I believed in the company and I still do to this
day,’’ Mr Heffernan said.
“I have a favoured brand of tyre that I
feel I can recommend without a second thought, and that is
Pirelli, but I will always in every single circumstance look at
a customer’s needs on a case-by-case basis before I recommend
the right tyre for them – and that is what JAXQuickfit Tyres is
all about – individualised customer service”.
JAXQuickfit Tyres Tuggeranong has 6 staff –
including a highly experienced and extremely talented mechanic
who keeps the loyal customers coming back again and again.
“Our mechanical servicing is just
brilliant,’’ Mr Heffernan said.

8am to 5pm Mon to Fri and 8am to 12 Midday on Saturdays.
