Goodyear: Hunter Racing re-signs

One of Australia’s leading off-road racing teams, Hunter Racing, has re-signed with Goodyear as naming right sponsors for the 2009 Australian Off-Road Championship.

After securing their fifth successive class Championship win in the series with Goodyear last year, team boss Colin Hunter and his Extreme Motorsports team will continue their partnership with the iconic brand in the hunt for more silverware for the trophy cabinet.

Hunter Racing’s V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee competes in ‘Extreme 4WD’ which is open to highly modified 4WD vehicles with engines not exceeding 6000c.

Over the Easter weekend, all of the country’s leading off road racing teams descended on Hyden, 4 hours East of Perth, to compete at the ARB Pinjarra Engineering Hyden 450.

The event was the first round of the 2009 Championship series and with strong entries from all corners of mainland Australia, it provided a sensational start to the season. 

Hunter Racing began its 2009 campaign in fine form with a runner up result at Hyden after a heavyweight battle with Victoria’s Sandy Bowman that saw the pair neck and neck all weekend.

It has now also been confirmed that the 2009 Australian Off-Road Championship will receive free-to-air TV coverage via Network Ten’s new dedicated digital high definition sports channel ONE, and on the SBS Speedweek program.
