The Easter long weekend saw
the Australian Off Saturday afternoon it started to rain heavily and Chris and Matt Western were rubbing their hands together as the rain proves a good equalizer. Plus they had the perfect tyre choice in the Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs. “I knew that we had a great chance to do well in the first section when the rain started coming down as we have done a lot of work in the buggies in the wet and have seen how well the MT/Rs perform in these extreme conditions,” explained Chris. “As it turns out we were on fire and I reckon I did up to 30 passes in the event and honestly it was some of the best fun I have ever had.” |

Final results for the event for the Off Road Rush Team was Matt Western and Dieter Allan in Car 62 in 6th Outright Position and Chris Western and Mike Taylor inCar 61 in 11th Outright out of a field of 64. Matt Western in Car 62 is currently running in 2nd Position Outright in the Tri Series National Championship for 2008. The Off Road Rush Pro Class Cars of 61 and 62 were the first 2 non American Built Race Cars to finish the event. |
