Cameron fought hard for key positions from
initial practice on Friday until the last lap of racing on Sunday.
His vigorous drives also generated substantial television coverage
(see ratings attachment) for the Team and reinforced the fact that
WOW Racing is a very competitive force in 2008.
Despite some awkward drizzle in early Qualifying,
Cameron qualified a tremendous 6th just 0:00.3068 of a second from
Pole position in the #14 WOW Racing Holden Commodore.
Race 2 was a much quieter race than Race 1 and
Cameron finished strongly in 5th between Lee Holdsworth and former series Champion, Rick Kelly.
In the final 36 lap sprint race, Cameron, was battling with Paul Dumbrell for 7th position.
Heading to turn 2 on Lap 24, Dumbrell attempted to pass Cam on the outside. The dubious
move resulted in light contact and Dumbrell failing to finish with damaged steering. However, to
the dismay of the WOW Racing crew, officials determined Cameron had not left sufficient
“racing room” and levied a pit lane drive-through penalty. |

2 5th, Race 3 20th, Round 3 Overall 7th:
"We are so close to a breakthrough. The WOW Racing car was good
enough for a serious Top 6, or better - all weekend. The drive
through penalty in Race 3 was disappointing. I didn’t get to state
my case before we were executed. I held my race line, Paul was in a
no-win position and he could have easily prevented that outcome, but
I paid the price... However, the positives easily outweigh the
negative. We’ve proven again we’re a force and we’ll get better.”
