JAXQuickfit Tyres today announced support for Hertz MINI Challenge series leader Chris Alajajian for the final three rounds of the 2010 season.
Alajajian’s racer will wear prominent JAXQuickfit branding to the end of this year, as a result of an existing relationship with the leading tyre retailer’s Artarmon (NSW) store.
“Chris has been a front runner in the series for some time, he’s a spectacular and aggressive racer, and with his strong links to our Artarmon store, we thought the opportunity to get on board too good to pass up,” JAXQuickfit Tyres’ CEO Jeff Board said.
JAXQuickfit Tyres’ Artarmon store owner Scott Downey explained the connection.
“We have a long-standing partnership with Chris’ father, who runs the local panel shop, so when they approached us about sponsorship, we thought it would be good to get the whole brand involved.
“Chris is a great bloke and an immensely talented driver and we love that JAXQuickfit is in the position to be able to support him in his motorsport endeavors.”
Alajajian’s support is the second time the JAXQuickfit Tyres branding has been seen on the racetracks of Australia this year.
JAXQuickfit Tyres also sponsors professional V8 Supercar driver and Moorabbin (Victoria) franchisee, Cameron McConville, who returned to the track this year.
McConville will partner Garth Tander in next weekend’s Phillip Island 500 and earlier this year, he won the Winton round of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series aboard his JAXQuickfit Commodore and also contested the Sucrogen Townsville 400 for Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport.
Alajajian’s Mini will run the JAX livery at the L&H Phillip Island 500 in Victoria on September 10-12, followed by the Gold Coast 600 in Queensland in October and finally the Sydney Telstra 300 season finale in December.
