Dunlop: Here and Now with John Bowe

I tell you what; I am starting to get very excited! It’s not long now until the inaugural Dunlop Townsville 400 which is going to be a cracker of an outing. Townsville’s first V8 Supercar event will be more than just a race; it will be a festival of events celebrating the best of the V8 Supercars with three action-packed days of sensational motor racing and entertainment.

As the naming right sponsor, Dunlop has heaps of activities and promotions planned both at the track and around the event, with a driving arcade, wheel changing competitions as well as plenty of giveaways to really help the fans enjoy the event.

Dunlop is an iconic name in motorsport and has been at the forefront of motoring development for over 120 years. In the V8 Supercar Championship Series, it is currently in its third consecutive contract to supply its highly acclaimed control tyres to teams. Since 2002, Dunlop has been the sole tyre supplier to the V8 Supercar Championship Series and Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series, providing and servicing approximately 10,000 tyres a year. I have personally been racing on Dunlops since the early 1980’s so I reckon I have gone through about number that just myself, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!.

The Dunlop Townsville 400 will also see the exciting and highly anticipated launch to the public of the new Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT and GT ultra high performance passenger road tyres. From the famous SP Sport Maxx family, which is home to Dunlop’s V8 control tyres, the new TT and GT utilise technology inspired from Dunlop’s racing heritage, which as I touched on last month after doing some driving myself on them, gives an unparalleled driving experience.
