Recently, 125 Goodyear associates were honoured at the Goodyear Innovation Centre Luxembourg (GIC*L) for their inventive activities during the 31st edition of the Goodyear Patent Awards.
Jean-Claude Kihn, Goodyear Global Senior Vice-President and Chief Technical Officer, congratulated the laureates for their many patents filed.
“Your patents are a very significant part of our company’s success,” Kihn said.
“Our company has already launched 23 new products so far this year, and the plan is to launch 50 products globally in 2009. It is essential that we not only maintain our momentum in innovation, but that we accelerate it.”
Marc Junio, General Director GIC*L, also congratulated the associates who contributed to the 341 inventions that have been filed globally for a patent.
“The success of our inventors confirms that the name change of our Research Centre is not just symbolic. Innovation has been a key contributor to Goodyear’s success, and it is even more important
during an economical crisis,” he added.
Associates on the team that developed the new OptiGrip tyre have also been nominated for Goodyear’s “Inventors of the Year” award.
