Tyre Family Takes Control at JAXQuickfit Capalaba

Second-generation tyre industry specialist Warren Aitchison has taken control of JAXQuickfit Tyres’ Capalaba store.

Following in the footsteps of his father Barry who spent his life in tyres, new Franchisee Warren Aitchison has added the Capalaba outlet to his ownership of the Mitchelton store.

“There’s no doubt the tyre industry is in our family’s blood … my father spent most of his life in the tyre game and so far I’ve racked up 35 years myself, the last 15 of those as a business owner,” Warren Aitchison said.

“I enjoy the interaction with customers, I believe in the safety contribution good tyres make, and working with JAXQuickfit has been a rewarding experience.

“When the opportunity came to take on Capalaba as well, I jumped at it.”

Continuing the Tyre Family theme, Warren’s brother Scott – with 22 years’ experience in the industry – will continue to manage the Capalaba store and an increased staff roster.

“Scott shares a similar passion for the tyre industry and is a real specialist in the wheel side of it, so our offerings at Capalaba will reflect that,” Warren Aitchison said.

“We’re already well underway with a general refurbishment of the store to make it more customer-focused and friendly and to improve the quality of the work we perform.

“In the waiting area there’s now a plasma television and proper coffee machine to make our customers a bit more comfortable, while out in the workshop we’ve installed the latest state-of-the-art hoists and wheel alignment machines.”

Along with a large range of wheels and accessories and an extensive range of quality brand-name tyres, the Capalaba store offers customers brake, suspension and mechanical servicing, plus nitrogen fill.

With the recently extensively revamped shopping complex adjacent to the JAXQuickfit store, Capalaba is a regional hub that draws a mix of affluent, suburban and rural residents.

“It’s an interesting customer base to service … there’s a number of premium cars, there’s your everyday suburban family cars, and a whole heap of people with acreage, so there’s plenty of four-wheel-drives as well,” Warren Aitchison said.

“And of course there are plenty of boats, so there’s lots of trailer tyres too.”

Away from his two JAXQuickfit stores, Warren Aitchison spends time with wife Celeste and young adult sons Mark and Jeff, and is a keen boatie, relaxing on the water and fishing.

Son Mark is not home often, though, as he races for the Honda factory team in the World SuperSport Championship.
