Dunlop Awarded Control Tyre Contracts for Australian Superbike Championship And Formula Extreme Championship

Dunlop is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the controlled tyre tender by the International Entertainment Group (IEG) for the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) for the next 3 years.

Dunlop have been the controlled tyre of choice for the Australian  Superbike Championship for the past two years, and Dunlop’s Motorsport & Motorcycle Manager Ken Wieden was pleased to announce their continued involvement.

We at Dunlop are excited with this announcement and are proud to be appointed this tender. It was an important contract for us and our distributors to win,” said Mr Wieden.

Dunlop has always been seriously involved in racing and to be awarded this contract means we can continue our association with the nation’s premier motorcycle championship series.

“Racing means many things for us, from product development to promoting the brand image to sales. We believe in our product and all at Dunlop are avid motorcycle racing fans.

“We are proud to be associated with IEG and the ASBK, and look forward to an exciting championship series in 2010 and the years to follow.

From next year, all ASBK classes will have a controlled Dunlop tyre. There is also an all new contingency program from Dunlop that will aide in reducing ongoing costs for riders.

In addition to the ASBK series, Dunlop has also been awarded the control tyre contract by Australian Road & Track Rider Promotions (ARTRP) for the Australian Formula Xtreme Championship Series (AFXC) for the next 2 years.

Dunlop began supplying the control tyre of choice for the Australian Formula Xtreme Championship Series this year. From 2010, Dunlop’s involvement will include supplying the premier FX1000 (Formula Xtreme), FX600 and the F1 and F2 Pro-Twins classes of the Series with products that have been specifically developed for Supersport & Superstock motorcycle racing in the USA and Europe.
