Dunlop Motorsport Cap Off One Of Most Successful Years Ever

The Australian Dunlop Motorsport team have capped off one of their most successful years ever with the recent conclusion of the 2009 V8 Supercar Championship Series and 2009 Australian Superbike Championship.

In a time that has seen Dunlop Tyre’s performance on both four wheels and two wheels recognised with what seem like endless racing victories, we have put together a brief list of just some of the major highlights from 2009 in Australia.

V8 SUPERCARS

• 70,000th control tyre supplied to the series since being appointed sole supplier in 2002.
• Successful completion of inaugural season for SP Sport Maxx ‘Sprint’ soft option tyre, which
• included the resetting of four track records out of six events.
• Dunlop Townsville 400 winning the V8 Supercar Championship Series ‘Event of the Year’ award,
• beating other iconic races including the Bathurst 1000 and Clipsal 500, as well as fellow first-time
• event the Sydney 500.
• Unprecedented positive TV exposure for the Dunlop Tyres brand.

AUSTRALIAN SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP

• Top 10 riders in all three ‘open’ tyre Championship categories riding on Dunlop Tyres, including the flagship Superbike class.

CONTROL TYRE CONTRACTS

• Dunlop ‘control tyre’ contracts in 2010 will include V8 Supercar Championship Series, Australian Superbike Championship, Formula Extreme Superbike Championship, Formula V Championship, Commodore Cup and some Australian Karting Association classes.

OTHER CAR VICTORIES

• Dunlop Tyres achieved victories in the Bathurst 12 Hour, Targa Tasmania, Targa WA, Classic Adelaide Rally plus many more events.

OTHER MOTORCYCLE VICTORIES

• Dunlop Tyres achieved victories in the Australian Motocross Championship, the Australian Supercross Championship, the Finke Desert Race, the 6 Hour motorcycle race plus many more events.
