DUNLOP TYRES AND THE FORMULA VEE ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIA (FVAA) ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE AN AGREEMENT FOR DUNLOP TO BE THE SOLE SUPPLIER OF CONTROL TYRES TO FORMULA VEE IN AUSTRALIA FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS.
Beginning from the first round of the 2010 series, which was recently held at South Australia’s Mallala circuit on the weekend of May 1-2, until the end of 2014 FVAA season, competitors will race on the highly regarded Dunlop CR82 race tyre.
Dunlop’s Motorcycle & Motorsports National Manager Ken Wieden was pleased to announce the company’s involvement.
“We at Dunlop are excited with this announcement and are proud to be appointed this tender. It was an important contract for us and our distributors to win,” said Mr Wieden.
“Dunlop has always been seriously involved in racing, including being the control tyre in Australia for both the V8 Supercar Championship Series and the Australian Superbike Championship, and we are proud to now be associated with Formula Vee in a similar capacity.”
Greg Hepburn, acting President of the FVAA, was equally excited about the new agreement.
“The FVAA required a tyre that would stand up to the rigors of racing in both wet and dry conditions, and give consistency of performance down to the last ounce of usable rubber, regardless of how many heat cycles the tyre has gone through,” Mr Hepburn said.
“The Dunlop CR82 race tyre was selected after many months of strenuous testing of it, along with other brands. It stood out in a number of areas, in particular the safety aspect of wet weather performance.
