ContiComfortContact™ 5 and ContiSportContact™ 5P

From family sedans and compact city runabouts to high performance cars, the Continental tyre range has a product for everybody, every car and every lifestyle.

Within Australia, the brand is experiencing strong growth as consumers recognise the diversity and quality of the current range.

Continental’s commitment to Australia has been further confirmed by the two latest release tyres to hit the local market, the ContiComfortContact™ 5 (CC5) and the ContiSportContact™ 5P (CSC 5P).

Available in 13 inch through to 16 inch fitments, the ContiComfortContact™ 5 has been tailored for Australian roads and conditions, offering optimum safety and reduced noise.

Featuring “Noise Breakers” – the Continental Silent Tread Technology, the CC5 provides a quieter ride, reducing noise levels without compromising performance as the air waves are broken up in the longitudinal grooves.

Driving comfort is further complimented with the V shaped Siped inner ribs and optimised compound stiffness providing for a smoother ride and the ability to better adapt to the roughness of some roads.

Continental’s advanced silica compound technology now in its third generation minimises rolling resistance resulting in better fuel economy and low CO² emissions.

The ultra high performance and award winning ContiSportContact™ 5P is available in sizes from 18 inch upwards and has been specifically designed to meet the ambitious expectations of the luxury and sports vehicle manufacturers.

Designed for optimal performance in both wet and dry conditions, and with offerings such as short braking distances, increased grip and improved handling, the 5P had already been given the OE green light long before its official debut, with initial approvals being granted by Mercedes-Benz AMG for the C 63, E 63 and SLS, as well as by Audi for the TT RS and by Renault for the Mégane III Sport.

Perfect steering precision is achieved as the solid, sturdy central ribs, attached tread lugs, and asymmetrical tread ribs of the CSC 5P all contribute to the stiffness in the tyre providing reduced movement in the tread.

The tread pattern has been designed in such a way that the large ground contact patch ensures maximum transmission of forces, while two rugged central ribs mean the rear axle tyres deliver optimum grip.

During fast cornering the contact patch is increased and the driver receives excellent feedback when approaching the limit with the tyre providing outstanding grip with maximum stability, due to a supple macro block on the outer shoulder.

Continental Tyres has employed “Black Chilli Technology” in the CSC5P- a specially developed compound technology involving an innovative type of racing grade carbon black, which ensures a speedy warm-up process and greater stability.

The latest releases from Europe’s leading tyre manufacturer set a new benchmark with their offerings, as Continental continues to develop tyres not only for the original equipment sector but also to meet the highest demands of the competitive replacement market.
