Goodyear Introduces Breakthrough Assurance Fuel Max Tyre

STATE-OF-THE-ART SCIENCE HELPS DELIVER FUEL-EFFICIENT TYRE OFFERING MORE MILEAGE FOR YOUR MONEY

As consumers continue to search for cost savings across all aspects of life, Goodyear has responded with a tyre that reduces the amount of fuel cars consume via a breakthrough in fuel-efficient technology.

The new Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max is designed to provide more mileage for your money, with a saving of up to $400 worth of fuel over the life of the tyres.¹

“Goodyear has an unparalleled track record of developing leading edge tyre technologies, and is always working to develop new and innovative products for consumers,” said Blake Vincent, Goodyear Product Manager for consumer tyres.

“Goodyear has achieved a breakthrough in proprietary technology that has enabled us to expand performance attributes.

“The new Assurance Fuel Max with Fuel Saving Technology® is engineered with a unique tread compound that significantly reduces the energy needed to keep the tyres rotating, so less effort is required to keep the vehicle moving.

“The tyre also gives the superior grip and handling necessary for both wet and dry conditions, as well as the extended tread life that you can expect from Goodyear tyres.”

With the Assurance Fuel Max, Goodyear has introduced a tyre tread compound that was developed at the molecular level to yield improvements in rolling resistance whilst retaining or even enhancing tread life and traction over its predecessor.

This technology allows for a saving of up to 320 litres, or approximately $400 worth of fuel, over the life of the tyres.

Many fuel-efficient tyres currently available depend on replacing carbon black material with silica in the tread compound, either in part or in total, to minimise rolling resistance.

At the heart of Goodyear’s new tread is a blend of polymers, which increase their selective reactivity with the silica filler, to help improve silica dispersion and enhance the overall physical properties of the tread. The merging of the Assurance Fuel Max tyre construction with this proprietary tread, results in tyres that help provide excellent fuel-efficiency, as well as consistent wet and dry traction, and long tread life.

To support the launch of the Assurance Fuel Max, Goodyear is also offering a “Satisfaction Assured Trial” with the tyre, so customers can drive with the further assurance that if they are not satisfied with the handling and performance, the product will be replaced with another set of Goodyear tyres up to the equivalent value of the original tyres purchased.²

The GoodyearAssurance Fuel Max is available in 16 popular sizes – suitable for vehicles such as the Toyota Camry, Ford Falcon, Holden Commodore Mazda 6, and also extending to hybrids such as the Toyota Prius.

¹ Independent fuel consumption tests performed by TUV SUD Automotive in Europe confirmed that Fuel Max® tyres on a Citroen C4 gives 4% more fuel savings than conventional tyres. For example if you were to apply this to a mid-sized car, that does an average of 10 litres/100 kms, you could save 320 litres over the life of the tyres. 320 litres x $1.25 (average petrol price per litre) = $400. Actual fuel savings will be dependant on factors such as driving styles, vehicle and road conditions.
