The Goodyear Eagle EfficientGrip is designed for maximum control in all year round driving conditions and reduced wet-braking distances. Based on external tests on wet-braking performance, the Goodyear Eagle EfficientGrip outperforms leading competitors in its class. This wet-braking test was conducted by TÜV SUD Automotive GmbH in Mireval, France, on size 205/55 R16 on a low mu wet asphalt surface, and showed that Goodyear Eagle EfficientGrip provided reduced wet-braking distances of up to 1.7 meters versus a leading competitor.
Launching on October 1, the Eagle EfficientGrip delivers drivers rock-solid vehicle stability and reduced wet-braking distances, courtesy of a high number of biting edges to grip the road surface for greater traction. Its low-rolling resistance will also help contribute to improved fuel efficiency.

Spanish driver Pedro de la Rosa will replace Nick Heidfeld as Pirelli’s official test driver, as the legendary Italian firm gears up for its Formula One return.

France’s all-new world championship qualifier, which takes place in the country’s Alsace region from September 30-October 3, is set to be a Tarmac rally like no other with inconsistent stage surfaces, narrow and wide sections and temperature variation all adding to the challenge facing the competitors, more than 60 of whom will use Pirelli’s PZero asphalt tyre.
As Pirelli gears up towards its first Grand Prix in 20 years next season, the intensive test programme has continued at Jerez in southern Spain with Nick Heidfeld at the wheel of the Toyota TF109 used for Pirelli’s pre-season development. Giorgio Pantano also drove the new GP2 car at Jerez, which will run on Pirelli rubber from next year as well.
For the fourth year in a row, Pirelli has been confirmed as a world leader in the Autoparts and Tire Sector in the Dow Jones Sustainability Europe and Dow Jones Sustainability World Indices.
“However, what we lack is a market for recycled waste tyre products. We have the supply but not the demand. If States and the Federal Government could agree on a policy for the use of waste tyres, such as in road building and construction, then the rate of genuine recycling would be improved and the need to export would be reduced, if not removed completely.”
In terms of difficulty, world championship rallies don’t get much harder than Rally Japan. With its blend of fast, sweeping gravel roads and narrow and technical sections, the event requires plenty of skill and experience to master.
