Michelin launches new Pilot Super Sport tyre

Michelin has launched its newest tyre for the ultra high-performance segment, the Pilot Super Sport, at a recent event in Dubai.

Drawing on its experience on the race track, Michelin developed the Pilot Super Sport as a successor to its Pilot Sport PS2 tyre and it promises to deliver longer tread life as well as improved wet and dry grip.

Michelin worked closely alongside car makers Porsche, BMW and Ferrari as well as leading testing organisation Tüv Süd, in developing the Pilot Super Sport.

Designed for the sportiest series-produced cars as well as for vehicles specifically tuned for ultra-high performance, the Pilot Super Sport integrates the full range of expertise and know-how developed by Michelin in the leading endurance race, in particular the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Billed as the world’s fastest series-produced tyre on the racetrack, the Pilot Super Sport has been designed to accomplish one purpose – deliver the ultimate driving experience while ensuring maximum safety even in extreme conditions of use.

The Pilot Super Sport tyres will be on the road shortly with the worldwide launch commencing in January 2011.
