An all-new Holden Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle (PPV) is close to hitting the streets of the US as America’s latest police car, delivering the performance, comfort and safety that today’s law enforcers need.
It is a full-size, rear-drive sedan developed in Australia that will offer both V8 and V6 engines, as well as a host of specialised equipment and features.
Unlike other police cars on the market, the Caprice PPV is not based on an existing “civilian” passenger car sold in North America. It has been developed in key areas specifically for police duty, containing modern equipment and features that include custom engineered Goodyear Eagle tyres.
“The Caprice PPV was an extremely exciting program, which again demonstrated the strength of Goodyear’s global engineering integration with our development team here in Australia working very closely with Goodyear’s Akron Innovation Centre in the US,” said Graeme Haynes, Goodyear & Dunlop Tyre’s OE Sales Director.
“We delivered a tyre solution for our customer in a tight timeframe that can withstand the harshest conditions the American law enforcement agencies will encounter.
“The Goodyear Eagle RSA tyres were one of the key vehicle components to assist GM-Holden in proving the locally made Caprice PPV is the best vehicle for the job.”
