Four Isle of Man TT Wins for Dunlop in 2011

The Supersport and Superstock victories were achieved using Dunlop’s D211 GP tyre, with a road legal tread pattern, homologated for race use and built at Dunlop’s Motorsport department in Birmingham. The technology developed for this tyre is applied to Dunlop’s road legal GP Racer D211 tyres.

Dunlop Cars Winds LMP2 at Le Mans 24 Hours

Dunlop tyres ran on 17 of the 56 cars at the 79th running of the Le Mans 24 Hours.Dunlop tyres completed a total of 3868 laps, approximately 52,444 kilometres or 32,587 miles during the course of the race. Dunlop brought 4500 tyres to Le Mans, in 10 tyre trailers with 36 service personnel.

The Hungarian Grand Prix from a Tyre Point of View

The Hungaroring is the slowest permanent circuit on the Formula One calendar – with full throttle applied for only about 10 seconds per lap – and the action for this Hungarian Grand Prix is complicated by the risk of rain, which is forecast intermittently for the rest of the weekend. The track has been lightly modified from last year, with the gravel traps on turns three, eight and nine replaced by run-off asphalt, in the interests of safety.

Pirelli Half Year Results for 2011

At the consolidated level, the Pirelli Group closed the first half with revenues of 2,789.3 million euros, an increase of 17.7 per cent compared with the same period of 2010, and an operating result (EBIT) after restructuring costs of 290.1 million euros, an increase 51.2 per cent year-on-year.

Bridgestone to boost US production with $135M investment

Bridgestone [Bridgestone-Logo-250] has announced it will be investing US$135 million into its Aiken County factory in the United States.

This investment is expected to increase its output of passenger car and light truck tyres by an additional 4,750 units a day, starting from the second quarter of 2013.

Pirelli Confirmed as Official Tyre Supplier to the FIM Superbike World Championship for 2013-2015 Seasons

Pirelli has been renewed as the Official Tyre Supplier to the FIM Superbike World Championship after a new contract was signed between Pirelli and Infront Motor Sports. The agreement secures Pirelli its current role in the World Championship as unique racing tyre supplier for the four racing classes through the end of 2015.
