Goodyear’s Assurance Fuel Max Named “Tyre of the Year” by China’s Motor Trend Magazine

GOODYEAR’S ASSURANCE FUEL MAX TYRE WAS RECENTLY NAMED “TYRE OF THE YEAR” AT THE 2011 TYRE OF THE YEAR AWARDS HELD BY CHINA’S MOTOR TREND MAGAZINE, ADDING TO THE IMPRESSIVE LIST OF ACCOLADES FOR GOODYEAR’S PASSENGER LINE-UP.

Goodyear’s Assurance Fuel Max tyre was launched across Asia Pacific last year and has proved highly popular among consumers, thanks to its outstanding performance and fuel and money-saving features.

In this year’s Motor Trend tyre tests, Assurance Fuel Max greatly impressed judges when it became the first tyre in their testing history to outperform all competitors in nine tests. All tyres evaluated by the judges were the latest products from mainstream tyre manufacturers, and were subjected to 16 tests during the process. Assurance Fuel Max delivered an excellent performance in braking, acceleration and noise control.

Goodyear Asia Pacific Consumer Marketing Director, Ben Chao, was present at the ceremony to accept the award in behalf of the company.

“This award is a great testament to Goodyear’s tyre development capabilities” said Chao. “Our growth is anchored on new product innovations such as Assurance Fuel Max, which is a key driver of our Global and Asia Pacific business strategy so we are very delighted to accept this award,” he added
