While Ford Performance Racing’s Mark Winterbottom claimed the final race win in front of Craig Lowndes and Shane van Gisbergen, the day belonged to Whincup as he became the first driver in the modern era of the V8 Supercars to take the Championship in both a Ford and a Holden.

The difference between the first Dunlop tyre on the winning Team Suzuki bike and the nearest competitor tyre was an incredible 9 laps. Dunlop National Motorcycle & Motorsport Manager, Ken Wieden, congratulated the winners at the event and commented on the Dunlop tyre performance at the race.
