New Goodyear Innovation Could Make Tyre Pumps Obsolete

Goodyear’s Air Maintenance Technology (AMT) will enable tyres to remain inflated at the optimum pressure without the need for any external pumps or electronics, as all components of the AMT system, including the miniaturised pump, will be fully contained within the tyre.

Frog feet could help tyres stick

“Tree frog feet may provide a design for self-cleaning sticky surfaces, which could be useful for … tyre performance and even long lasting adhesives,” said researcher Niall Crawford at the University of Glasgow.

Michelin’s self-seal technology to become standard
