Goodyear rolls out new Eagle F1 Asymmetric tyre on the Gold Coast
More than 100 Goodyear staff, dealers and motoring writers from the region converged on the Gold Coast for Goodyear's Asia Pacific launch of it's new ultra high performance tyre, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric at the end of October.
Since its initial launch in Germany in 2007, this tyre has received outstanding reviews in Europe and North America.
After achieving its latest accolade in Australia's Wheels Magazine earlier this year, Eagle F1 Asymmetric is now set to conquer Australian roads with its "Active CornerGrip Technology".
The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric tyre was made at the Goodyear Technical Center Luxembourg (GTC*L), home to many of the world's leading tyre research and development personnel and birthplace of several market leading products.
For almost two years, more than 100 engineers, physicists, chemical experts and tyre evaluation specialists worked extensively to develop and perfect rubber tread compounds and the various other tyre components, leading to a new ultra-high performance (UHP) tyre with outstanding performance.
Melissa Tilley, Goodyear brand manager, said that the Gold Coast is ideal for the launch.
"More than 100 Goodyear staff, dealers and media from the Asia Pacific region, including China, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia, converged on the Gold Coast for the tyre launch," Ms Tilley said.
"We chose to host the Asia Pacific launch on the Gold Coast becauseof the access to Holden's driving facility and because it's a big attraction to international guests," she said.
The launch began with a conference at the Hyatt Sanctuary Cove on Wednesday night and on Thursday, the delegation tested the tyres onthe fantastic facilities at Holden's Driving Centre.
"Where its predecessor, the Eagle F1 GS-D3, set the standards for drivers of premier car brands such as BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche and Ferrari for many years, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric further improves these standards.
"We're confident Goodyear's new top-of-the-line product, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric, will confirm its leadership in the growing, prestige-driven UHP tyre market that is growing at a rate of around 9-10%," she said.
