Grant Denyer & Shelley Craft to host Woolworth's Carols in the Domain
Channel 7 favourites GRANT DENYER and SHELLEY CRAFT will host this year's WOOLWORTHS' CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN. Now in its 24th year, Grant says he's thrilled to be a part of Australia's largest and most loved Christmas celebration.
"Nothing is more magical than the spirit of Christmas and being part of a show that has 24 years of tradition will be a special experience," he said. "Nothing holds me back when a Christmas carol comes on. They are the essence of celebrating Christmas. Everyone in one voice singing is pretty spectacular."
Like Grant, Shelley is looking forward to co-hosting Carols for the first time. "I'm absolutely thrilled to be involved in WOOLWORTHS' CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN this year," The Great Outdoors presenter said. "With the help of Australia's best musical performers and, of course, the jolly old man himself, I know it will be a fantastic night and a wonderful time to share the Christmas spirit with everyone."
WOOLWORTHS' CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN showcases the very best of the Australian entertainment industry from theatre, opera and recording artists to our most loved television personalities. This year Grant and Shelley will bewelcoming what is shaping up to be the event's most exciting line up of performers to date.
Australian superstar GUY SEBASTIAN will perform alongside chart toppers HUMAN NATURE; R&B queen JADE MACRAE; the talented YOUNG DIVAS; country music sensations MELINDA SCHNEIDER and ADAM HARVEY; theatrical greats RACHAEL BECK and CHLOE DALLIMORE; international opera stars YVONNE KENNY and DAVID HOBSON; and Home and Away's very own TIM CAMPBELL. They'll be backed by the soaring voices of The Salvation Army Choir, The Australian Girls Choir and the Jubilation Gospel Choir.
And it wouldn't be Christmas without kids' favourite THE WIGGLES, who will be performing at Carols for their 15th consecutive year. Children will also be treated to appearances by the stars of RAGGS and the guest of honour, Santa Claus. Stay tuned over the coming weeks as more star performers willbe announced.
WOOLWORTHS' CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN brings Australians together to celebrate the songs and spirit of Christmas. It also provides crucial support to The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal and The Salvation Army's Oasis Youth Support Network.
Channel 7 and its regional affiliates will screen WOOLWORTHS' CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN nationally from 8:40pm on Saturday 16th December 2006. It will also be simulcast in Sydney via Mix106.5. Print media partner The Sun Herald will print the official Woolworths' Carols in The Domain songbook in their edition on Sunday 10th December 2006.
