This advanced tyre has been extensively developed in the company's highly sophisticated factory in Luxembourg in conjunction with the world’s leading car manufacturers to fulfil the specific needs of high-performance vehicles, offering drivers of family and sports cars a safe, comfortable and quiet ride, combined with superb performance and handling.

“In recent years, buyers of high-performance cars increasingly prefer models incorporating high technology advances like traction control and ABS,” said Craig Scher, Goodyear Brand Manager.

“The performance potential of almost all of these technologies rely on the tyres - the only parts of a car which make road contact. Goodyear Excellence has been developed with the leading car manufacturers to ensure a tyre perfectly in tune with the demands of the vehicle and driver, ” he said.

Goodyear Excellence incorporates state-of-the-art ‘3-Zone’ tyre technology that boasts high levels of safety and performance with a specific focus on comfort and will be fitted as original equipment on some top marques including Mercedes, Alfa Romeo, BMW and Toyota as well as many forthcoming new car models.

“Our research told us that drivers of large family and high-performance cars want a comfortable ride, and different tyres can have a major influence on how relaxing a car is to drive, and how enjoyably quiet a journey can be,” Mr Scher said.

“With new standards of comfort, coupled with outstanding handling, the Goodyear Excellence is set to become a best seller in the family car and sports/executive saloon car tyre market.”

The new Goodyear Excellence range will be available in 22 sizes, ranging from 14 to 18 inch. Excellence can be found at Beaurepaires, Goodyear Auto Service Centres and other leading tyre retailers from October.
