The Permagard 3rd Eye TPMS is a sophisticated sensing device that warns drivers of any tyre pressures problems, whether the vehicle is moving or stationary.

The System

The system is a sophisticated sensing device designed to measure and display real time tyre operation. It alerts the driver instantly of any tyre pressure or pressure irregularities. It will send an alert to the receiver fitted inside the cabin on the vehicle.

The system will alert the driver when the tyre pressure drops to less than 23psi and/or the tyre temperature reaches 80 degrees. The transmissions of signals are through the latest wireless helical technology.

What are the main problems associated with improper tyre pressure and what are the causes?

Research by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration suggests that 1.4% of all accidents resulting in 10,000 road deaths in the US could be prevented each year by monitoring tyre pressure.

Facts about tyre damage and fuel consumption

• Tyres lose pressure ‘naturally’ at a rate of 0.2 bar (2.9psi) every 3 months.

• 85% of all the significant losses of pressure are represented by “small” leakages, covering periods of hours, days or months and thus cannot be easily and immediately identified

• Fuel consumption increases by 1% every 0.2 bar (2.9 psi) the tyre is under pressure

• Tyre wear increases by 5% every 0.2 bar (2.9 psi) the tyre is under pressure
