About JAXQuickfit Belconnen

Belconnen was minus its famous shopping centre mall when JAXQuickfit Tyres Belconnen owner Adrian Heffernan first started selling tyres in the suburb way back when.

Call him an old hand at he will take it as a compliment - Mr Heffernan has been selling tyres since 1968 - to say he has "seen it all" is an absolute understatement.

He loves cars, and he is not afraid to admit it, but Mr Heffernan started out as a wheat and sheep farmer before he moved into his beloved automotive industry many years ago.

How does life on the land compare to life as a busy owner of three Canberra and NSW-based JAXQuickfit Tyres stores in Belconnen, Tuggeranong and Queanbeyan?

"Wouldn't go back to it," Mr Heffernan said.

"To me, being a farmer seems like a life time away, and in reality, it is!"

"Tyres are what I do, tyres are what I sell, and tyres are what I know."

With nine staff manning the busy JAXQuickfit Tyres Belconnen store, Mr Heffernan admits that the store sees a lot more traffic now the much-loved Belconnen mall is intact.

"It is funny when you tell people that you came to Belconnen before the shopping centre," he says.

"That is what this place is renowned for in Canberra - the place to come and shop - and it is certainly the place to come and shop for tyres at JAXQuickfit Tyres Belconnen."

"Our staff will run you through all you need to know about the right tyres for your vehicle, and many people are actually quite surprised about the science behind it all, but one thing is for sure, when you're driving on good quality tyres you will definitely notice a difference."

JAXQuickfit Tyres Belconnen is open from 8am to 5pm Mon to Fri and 8am to 12 midday on Saturdays.
