A luxury vehicle make that many car enthusiasts aspire to own, Aston Martin is widely considered to produce some of the World's most pleasing car designs. The car manufacturer's brand name derives from the Aston Hill speed hill climb and the name of co-founder Lionel Martin, who, along with Robert Bamford, established the company in 1913.

The first Aston Martin was created by joining a Coventry-Simplex engine to an Isotta-Fraschini chassis, and early Aston Martin cars competed in the French Grand Prix, setting world speed and endurance records. The iconic brand was elevated into the public consciousness further in the 1960's, after being selected as the car of choice for indelible screen spy James Bond. Whilst Aston Martin has suffered financial problems over the years, significantly the renowned DB series of vehicles was named after David Brown Limited, a company that bailed the car manufacturer out of money troubles following the Second World War.

In 1994 Aston Martin became part of the Ford group, an association that lasted until 2007, when it was sold for 479m to a private consortium. Recently Aston Martin produced the V8 Vantage, which was one of the first cars to complete the east-west crossing of the new Asian Highway.
