About Chrysler

Founded in 1925 by Walter Chrysler, iconic American car manufacturer Chrysler became part of the German Daimler-Benz group from 1998 to 2007. Currently in partnership with Italian carmaker Fiat, Chrysler has been virtually reborn and was ranked thirteenth largest car manufacturer in the world in 2008.

The Chrysler production roster includes iconic US brands Dodge and Jeep, and the company produced 1.89 million vehicles in 2008. Focussing on a light vehicle style marketed as "high-end" and semi-prestigious, Chrysler produces models such as the PT Cruiser and 300C, which have a highly distinctive "future-retro" look.

Chrysler is looking to the future with in-house organisation ENVI, which was formed to develop environmentally sound electric-drive vehicles and other emerging technologies. Their history of developing cutting edge methods, such as gas turbine engines for automotive use in the 1970's, puts them in good stead for success.
