About Jeep
For many the Jeep brand name is synonymous with rugged off-road vehicles, which is no wonder, given the company's military background. Jeep was the primary all-wheel drive vehicle of the Allies during World War 2 and the post war period. The first civilian Jeep was produced in 1945 and the brand then moved through different owners until Chrysler acquired it in the late 1980's.
Jeep's grille is instantly recognisable, further adding to the brand's legendary status. Today Jeep produces what are now termed SUV's, with a range of luxury features that would have been unimaginable in the 1940's. Despite this, Jeeps still remain extremely rugged and are one of the few SUV types that can actually perform serious off-road work.
Jeep is an aspirational brand and buyers are obviously attracted to its off-road credentials, as well as a modern design aesthetic that remains true to the military original.
