Cameron McConville delivers despite difficult weather at Philip Island
2008 Australia V8 Supercar Championship : Round 9
Yesterday's L&H 500 was a great spectacle at Phillip Island delivering on the promise of exciting and torrid endurance racing. The conditions varied between sunshine, wind squalls, pelting rain and partially damp.
V8 Supercar driver, Cameron McConville, supported by JAXQuickfit Tyres Current Championship
Position: 16th Points: 1018 pts.
Cameron : "The car was fast, I was running with Garth & Frosty in the Top 6 for first half of race. The car was fantastic."
A Race 1
The strategy call was not to take the compulsory pit stop in this race. Cameron grabbed valuable points with a very strong 6th position.
B Race 2
The Team managed a great pit stop but unfortunately had to give way to another car at the pit exit and lost some time. The combined efforts of the drivers generated a good grid position of 14th for the L&H 500.
L&H 500
Further technical changes greatly improved the car before the L&H 500. Cameron stormed into the Top 6 for the first portion of the race.
