Explosive Start to the V8 Supercar Championship Series
The V8 Supercar Championship Series well and truly kicked into action at the season opener at the Clipsal 500. TeamVodafone's Jamie Whincup was victorious as the Clipsal 500 exploded into one of the best finishes in the 10-year history of the V8 Supercar Championship Series event raced in Adelaide.
What followed was Jim Beam Racing's Will Davison making it two wins in as many rounds for the next generation of Ford stars when he broke through for his maiden victory in the V8 Supercar Championship Series at Sydney's Eastern Creek.
Dunlop enjoyed significant presence at the Clipsal 500 with a track signage sponsorship package which included a Dunlop sponsored bridge and the sponsorship of Turn 8, known as the Dunlop Sweeper. Dunlop also saw new tyre regulations take effect this season with a fresh set of practice tyres allocated per team for the sprint races.
Eastern Creek also hosted the Mini Challenge Series opener with Dunlop the official tyre supplier for the next three years. In the end 24-year-old Neil McFadyen took the first ever round in Australia capturing a superlative victory in the final race after Seven Network personality, Grant Denyer won the morning race two.
