Long-term JAXQuickfit Blacktown franchisees Shayne and Karen Derwin believe they have hit on a winning formula as their business goes from strength to strength.

Shayne is a veteran in the tyre business, having originally trained as a mechanic. He then went on to work for a specialist brake and clutch workshop before trying his hand as an on-the-go technician with the mobile mechanical team, LubeMobile. From there he spent several years fixing industrial machinery before working for Goodyear Tyres at their Minchinbury Store and managing a Fleet Repair Company.

Meanwhile, Karen brings a female-friendly feel to the store and is often on the front desk to welcome customers.

"Our customer base is truly representative of the Australia population; gone are the days when females asked a male relative or friend to handle the tyre purchase decision," JAXQuickfit CEO Jeff Board said.
