About JAXQuickfit Townsville
After 20 years in the tyre industry, Jeff and Michelle Schmidt have become the proud franchisees of the JAXQuickfit Townsville store.
"I worked with JAX Tyres in their Queensland wholesale division for many years before heading to Pirelli Tyres Australia taking on the position of State Manager and National Truck Tyre Manager" Jeff says.
"Michelle also has a retail background and has always liked wheels."
Since the purchase of the business, the couple has re-identified the showroom – installing floating timber floors and painting the premises.
“We’ve also got up-to-date womens’ magazines and Michelle on the front desk which makes our female customers feel welcome” Jeff says.
“Females are a very important part of our customer mix. It’s amazing how many women are in here purchasing tyres” Michelle says.
The couple, who have five girls aged 8 to 20 are also enjoying the change of pace.
“We’re loving the retail challenge. People like the way we do business and we’re already seeing repeat customers as a result” Jeff says.
Boasting a wide range of high quality tyres and wheels, JAXQuickfit Townsville is also in the business of brakes and suspension repairs & replacement - along with a range of associated services for wheel alignments, tyre & wheel balancing, tyre repairs and nitrogen tyre inflation. New equipment has also been installed including a new tyre balancing machine and wheel aligner.
